A Resource for Parents on how to help their child with Autism

Juicing
No matter what I may hear others say about juicing I just cannot seem to completely agree 100% as I have to say right now my children would not drink smoothies everyday. Juicing is great as it allows you to see what is going into your child's drink as companies that claim it is 100% orange juice or apple juice, I think it is really about the money and not about giving our children the nutrients that they need. The most they can claim is in their drink has vitamin C or even they will add vitamins to the drinks. The process of making orange juice or any juice starts by squeezing the juice from the fruit, striping the oxygen from the juice so it doesn't spoil and using flavor packs. That is why all the juice taste the same. If you read this article it is pretty enlightening to know the story on juice for everyones information http://www.foodrenegade.com/secret-ingredient-your-orange-juice/ which they also have a source linked to their information which is: https://christinescottcheng.wordpress.com/2010/05/19/tropicana-orange-juice-flavor-packs-and-food-industry-lies/.
At least by juicing you can add a variety of fruits and vegetables that is packed with many vitamins and nutrients that come naturally from them. And again you know what is in your child's drink. Eventually my children will graduate to drinking smoothies which will include the fibre of these fruits and vegetables but right now for my children they enjoy it and they are getting health benefits from it. The way to keep your juice balanced and not just sugar packed from the fruit is adding vegetables to the juice so that you are balancing it out. I also use the juice to hide my daughter's supplements in and make sure she is taking them everyday.

The thing that actually really woke me up to jucing was a documentary called fat, sick and nearly dead. I had always wanted to try jucing way before I saw this but once I had watched it, honestly it motivated to go out and buy a juicing machine. Little did I know that I was preparing myself to live a more balanced and healthier lifestyle for my daughter who needed this transformation with the food we all ate.

Orange Sacral Chakra Juice
2-4 oranges depending on sizes
1 medium red or orange pepper

For added yumminess throw in 2-3 large strawberries
